Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring '05: Rami Kashou

Mercedes-Benz honored Rami Kashou by sponsoring his Spring/Summer ’05 runway show, held Oct. 28 at Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Culver City.

The acclaimed designer, known for his beautiful jersey creations, continued to expand his offerings to include a variety of wovens and knits. The collection, themed “Smells Like Summer,” expressed both femininity and sensuality through a mixture of vibrant colors and floral prints.

Kashou created a playful, feminine collection with romantic ruffles, pleats and flowers reminiscent of a traditional Southern belle. He expanded on his use of wovens by employing fabrics such as cotton voile, linen, rayon eyelet and polished cotton.

The designer introduced sexy “lounge suits,” or swimwear, that would be perfect for any Southern gal or Hollywood starlet relaxing poolside at the Chateau Marmont. —N.J.S.
