Roka Signs Software Deal

Jacksonville, Fla.–based innerwear maker Roka Apparel Products LLC has signed on to use New Generation Computing Inc.’s RedHorse enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system and The Production Manager (TPM) to manage full-package operations in its cutting-and-sewing facilities in Honduras.

The products are aimed at streamlining multiple processes for the company, including order processing, accounting, cut order management, fabric and trim inventory control as well as shop floor control, incentive payroll, operator performance analysis and factory cost analysis.

Larry Stone, chief executive officer of Roka, said the company was looking for a wealth of functions for its heavy private-label business. “Information technology is an important component of our company infrastructure, and we need to work with a company that has a strong track record,” he said.

Roka, established in 2003, has become the largest private-label intimate apparel producer manufacturing in the Western hemisphere. Its apparel facilities in Honduras are located in the Villanueva Free Zone Park near San Pedro Sula and the Government Park in Puerto Cortez. The company employs more than 2,000 workers and has produced more than 10 million garments to date. —Robert McAllister
