Dirtbag Clothing Aims at Music Industry

San Rafael, Calif.–based Dirtbag Clothing Inc. has launched an apparel line called Dimebag Hardware with former Pantera guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott.

The line of T-shirts, hats, work shirts, shorts and accessories will complement the company’s regular line, Dirtbag. Both lines retail from $18 to $49. Distribution is planned for specialty stores and the Web via www.dirtbag.com and www.dimebaghardware.com.

Abbott, who gained notoriety with the speed-metal band Pantera, is currently touring with the band Damageplan. When he is not working on his music, Abbott will oversee design and marketing of the new line, said Dirtbag President Doug Canning.

The goal is to attract a new channel of distribution through the music industry. Dirtbag Clothing already has a niche in skatewear and streetwear stores. —Robert McAllister
