K2 Relocates HQ
Carlsbad, Calif.–based K2 Inc.—which markets equipment and apparel for snowboarding, skiing and other action sports—is moving its international headquarters to the Carlsbad Corporate Center, located at 3818 El Camino Real in north San Diego County.
The company signed a $13 million, 132-month lease with real estate firm H.G. Fenton Co. to occupy the 76,693-square-foot facility. K2 will remain at its current location, at Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad, until February 2005.
Compared with K2’s former facility, the new headquarters will provide the company with greater visibility off Interstate 5 and a more corporate campus setting, said H.G. Fenton brokers.
K2, on a solid growth track, reported its sales were up about 25 percent for the second quarter of 2004. The company is coming off the acquisition of Santa Rosa, Calif.–based technical apparel company Marmot Mountain Ltd., German sports apparel and equipment maker Vouml;lkl, and Salt Lake City–based Marker Outerwear.
