Bribery Plea

Former Vans Inc. Vice President Scott Andrew Brabson pleaded guilty to charges that he solicited $4.7 million in bribes and kickbacks from Chinese producers of Van’s apparel and shoes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Central District of California. Former Van’s consultant Jay William Rosendahl pleaded guilty to similar charges. Brabson was charged with conspiracy, foreign travel to promote bribery, “honest services” wire fraud and money laundering stemming from his 1997–2000 stint as vice president of sourcing for the Santa Fe Springs–based manufacturer. Sentencing for Brabson is scheduled for May 11. Brabson and Rosendahl each face up to five years, 11 months in federal prison.
