Lacoste Fights Back

New York–based sportswear maker Lacoste USA announced that more than $1 million worth of counterfeit Lacoste merchandise had been seized in raids conducted in retail and wholesale businesses in Puerto Rico. Among the confiscated merchandise were dress shirts, knit polo shirts, sweat suits, hats, jeans and other items. Lawsuits have been filed against 27 defendants. The U.S. Marshals Service in Puerto Rico assisted in the raids, which took place in 19 locations in Carolina, Ponce, Bayamoacute;n and other cities.
