Seminar Schedule Set for Material World

A panel of industry experts from Perry Ellis International, Phillips-Van Heusen and Nine West will top the seminar and events schedule for the March 16–18 run of Material World and Technology Solutions. The fabric show and tech expo, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla., are sponsored by the Washington, D.C.–based American Apparel & Footwear Association.

The keynote breakfast, set for 7:30 a.m. on March 16, will address supply-chain challenges, including speed-to-market, security and cargo issues, and deflationary trends. The AAFA and the American Apparel Producers Network will co-host another breakfast seminar, titled “Regional Sourcing: the Producers Perspective,” at 7:30 a.m. on March 17.

In other events, OptiTex President Yoram Burg will lead a discussion on emerging product data management and product lifecycle management software; Shlomo Bitter, vice president of CGS, will present a case study on electronic data interchange and enterprise resource planning; and Kathryn Gordy-Novakovic of Cotton Inc. will present a trend forecast.

In addition, Tom Travis, managing partner of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, will talk about key developments in international trade in the post-quota world; New Generation Computing executives will give advice on improving supply-chain management; and John Saner of EPC Global USA will discuss the latest news and developments regarding radio frequency identification technology.
