FCI Show Bows in Downtown Gallery

Art and fashion converged on Jan. 13 when Los Angeles design school Fashion Careers International hosted its student fashion show at the Infusion Gallery in downtown Los Angeles.

Against a backdrop of the gallery’s latest painting and sculpture exhibition, several FCI fashion design graduates showcased their work, which ranged from flirty cotton separates and jersey dresses to intricately detailed eveningwear and edgy menswear.

Runway looks included Kennetta Lea’s asymmetrical jersey dresses and Carlos Robles’ casual cotton separates with sequined appliqueacute;s. Ron Mejia showed both men’s and women’s styles. His color-blocked men’s looks featured abstract top-stitching and snap closures. For women, he showed gowns in satin and chiffon. —Alison A. Nieder
