Rita English, Longtime Sales Rep at CMC, DMC

Rita English, a seasoned sales representative who had worked at the Dallas Market Center and California Market Center, died on Jan. 15 after a long battle with cancer. She was 52.

A native of Tyler, Texas, English began her career in the garment industry with Gene Ewing Bis in Dallas. She moved to Los Angeles more than 20 years ago to represent Bis in Southern California. In the last decade of her life, English was an independent sales representative at Crayola Sisters. She left Crayola in late 2002 because of her illness.

English is survived by her parents, Ray and Theodora Ross, and her twin brothers, Ronald Ray Ross and Reginald Roy Ross.

Services will be held Jan. 22 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Tyler.

Vanessa Howard, who worked with English at Bis and later at Howard’s own clothing company, said a memorial will be held at the CMC in February.
