Tukatech and ISL in Software Deal

Los Angeles–based technology company Tukatech Inc. and Texas apparel manufacturer ISL Inc. have entered into a software deal in which ISL will use Tukatech’s TukaPlan suite of product development applications.

ISL manufactures sportswear in Guatemala for companies including Nike Inc., Rawlings, Majestic and UnderArmour. The company will use TukaPlan to incorporate product data management and enterprise resource planning applications aimed at automating pre-production planning. The system also centralizes Tukatech’s patternmaking, grading and marker-making programs.

Luis Narcisco, chief operating officer for ISL, said the company aligned with Tukatech because of the technology company’s event-driven and flexible solution. He said ISL was also looking to replace disparate applications from other systems suppliers that did not allow data to be shared. —Robert McAllister
