Rampage Winsat Webby Awards

Los Angeles–based Rampage Clothing Co. won a Webby Worthy award during the ninth annual Webby Awards, which honored the world’s best Web sites.

Rampage and Santa Monica–based Web site designer A Far Site Better were recognized in the Webby Worthy category, a new division for Web sites that exhibit remarkable achievement.

The awards are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization with a membership that includes musician David Bowie, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and BCBG Max Azria designer Max Azria.

Rampage’s Web site, which was recently redesigned, was noted for its use of A Far Site Better’s realZoom technology, which allows online shoppers to zoom in and get close-up views of garments and fabrics. The technology does not require any plug-ins or extra downloads.

Rampage’s Web site director, Francheska Anderson, said the new site has received lots of positive customer feedback. “Our clothing line comes alive with realZoom, and our shoppers feel like they are seeing the merchandise as if they were in a store, and it’s fun too,” she said. She added that sales volume for the site has doubled since the redesign.
