Wet Seal's Gold

The executive who helped turn sales around for Foothill Ranch–based retailer The Wet Seal Inc. will receive $2.8 million for the fiscal year ending Jan. 28, 2006. Consultant Michael Gold struck a compensation deal with the retailer based on his efforts to help turn around the company.Wet Seal posted declining sales numbers for two years before rebounding into the black this year.Gold, who came to Wet Seal from Canadian retailer Wilsons Leather, will remain with the company until January 2007.
