Miami SwimShow Cruise '06: Gideon Oberson

Models paraded down the runway at Gideon Oberson’s show in suits featuring daring cutouts and colorful graphic prints with coordinating scarves trailing behind them. The Italian designer said he was inspired by everyday life experiences and drew from his stage background as a ballet dancer to create his eponymous swimwear collection.

Oberson, the creative director for Tel Aviv, Israel–based Gottex, created a wide range of looks with two very different moods for his 2006 swimwear collection. The first mood was very sexy—with strong, vivid colors such as orange, acid green and blue—and transitioned into a more romantic look in natural black, brown and beige. Standout pieces included a lime-green bodysuit with circular cutouts, a nude mesh-covered open-front one-piece and a harem-style bridal finale ensemble.
