Canadian Brands Head to Dallas Mart

More than 60 leading Canadian manufacturers will show their Fall and Winter lines during the Dallas Women’s & Children’s Apparel & Accessories Market, to be held March 31–April 3 at FashionCenterDallas on the Dallas Market Center campus.

Companies expected to participate include Conrad C, FDJ French Dressing, Peter Nygauml;rd Signature, Grenier, Tribal, Oblique, Sympli the Best, Toujours Elegant, The Global Fur Group and Paula Lishman. Collections will include sportswear, swimwear, outerwear and furs.

Canadian apparel officials said the United States represents more than 90 percent of exports for the Canadian apparel industry.

“Establishing a foothold in key markets such as Dallas and the Southwestern U.S. is extremely important for our industry,” said Elliot Lifson, president of the Canadian Apparel Federation and vice chairman of Peerless Clothing Inc.

“Canadians are renowned for service and for consistently offering innovative products that Americans look for. We understand that American buyers want a fashionable product, quick turnaround and a person on the other end of the phone. We’re not a world away, but next door, and we have so very much to offer,” Lifson added.

For the first time, the Canadian Apparel Federation, Canada’s national association for the apparel industry, will promote Canadian companies attending the market through a number of initiatives, including a Canadian apparel directory showcasing permanent and temporary lines, a rep locator, fashion shows, and a “Get Connected to Canada” reception on April 2.
