Levi's Tour Sizes Up 3-D Fittings

Levi Strauss is resuming its national “Fit Experience” tour in which it places 3-D body scanners in selected company-owned stores to provide customers with the ultimate fitting session.

The tour will take place Sept. 23–25 at Chula Vista Center and Sept. 27–29 at Horton Plaza in San Diego County; Oct. 1–3 at Northridge Fashion Center; and Oct. 5–7 at South Coast Plaza in Orange County.

Participants at the events will be placed in a clear cylinder provided by Horsham, Pa.–based technology company Intellifit. A scanner rotates around the encasement, reads body measurements and provides a printout for the store’s stylists, who assist customers with their purchases.

The San Francisco–based denim company said the fit experiments have been successful and executives are contemplating placing the scanners in some stores on a permanent basis.
