Directives West's Nod to Moderate

The looks on the runway echoed the Fall 2006 key trends—but were reinterpreted for the moderate market—at the Directives West runway show, held April 3 on the 11th floor of the California Market Center.

Titled “L.A. Get the Picture,” the show covered the moderate sportswear market’s upcoming trends, including menswear-inspired styles, casual knits and sweater dressing; and the latest looks in denim, including skinny silhouettes, clean-up wash treatments and cropped styles.

The Los Angeles–based buying office also spotlighted a few upcoming key items, including leggings, vests and the “boot skirt”—a long, straight style in denim. —Alison A. Nieder
