OptiTex Expands to Caribbean Basin

OptiTex USA Inc. executives have reached an agreement with Palm Beach, Fla.–based Apparel PreProduction Inc. and its Dominican affiliate Grupo Banyan S.A. to distribute OptiTex CAD software in the Caribbean market.

APPI will sell OptiTex’s 3D design software and work with OptiTex to help it develop specific solutions for Caribbean and Dominican manufacturers.

OptiTex President Steve Princiotta said 3D technology should come into strong demand in the region over the next 18 months.

“This software reduces the line development time and cost,” he said. “Optitex’s virtual sample room will reduce the amount of physical samples that need to be made by at least half and create content that can be used throughout the product lifecycle, even to Webbased consumer sales.”
