Offshore Factories Head to Sourcing at MAGIC

Record numbers of offshore manufacturers are expected at the Sourcing at MAGIC show, held in conjunction with the MAGIC Marketplace Aug. 28–31 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Close to 800 companies from more than 30 countries are expected to take space at the show, nearly a three-fold increase since the sourcing area launched three years ago. The exhibitors will take up almost 100,000 square feet at the convention center, a 320 percent increase over the past three years.

The growth has been led by country-organized trade associations, said a MAGIC spokeswoman. Pakistan will have its largest showing on U.S. soil with more than 40 companies represented. India, one of the key alternatives to China, will bring 80 factories, as will representatives from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Korea, Mauritius, Morocco, Peru, South Africa, Taiwan, Tunisia, Thailand and Turkey.

In addition, the event will feature a comprehensive seminar series covering everything from trade law to speed-to-market. For more information, visit www.sourcingatmagic.com. —Robert McAllister
