Bridget Hansel Andrews, 43

Bridgette Hansel Andrews, a major executive in the Los Angeles apparel industry since the 1980s, died on Dec. 12 at her home in Santa Monica, Calif., of a heart attack. She was 43.

Andrews was born in Florida and grew up on the move with her military family. At the early age of 16, she joined her brother, Larry Hansel, to start the Los Angeles clothing business that became Rampage Clothing Co. Bridgette held key management roles at Rampage before leaving her executive capacity in 2004.

“She was a dynamic and passionate force in this industry,” said Caren Lettiere, a longtime friend and colleague. “She had a magical effect on those of us who were touched by her life, both personally and professionally. We will be tattooed by her forever.”

Andrews is survived by her children, Jessica and Jake Andrews, and their father, John Andrews. Bridgette is also survived by her mother, Irene Hansel, her brother, Larry Hansel, and her sisters, Michelle Hansel and Nicole Perez.

Private services were held Dec. 15 in Westlake Village, Calif. Larry Hansel said a charitable fund in Bridgette’s memory is being established. Information will be available through Larry Hansel Clothing at (323) 584-4400. —Deborah Belgum
