Timoteo Boutique Closes in West Hollywood

The boutique for Los Angeles–based menswear label Timoteo will close on Dec. 31 after five years of business on the 8700 block of West Hollywood’s Santa Monica Boulevard.

Timoteo Ocampo, the creative director for the 5-year-old label, will concentrate on his wholesale operations after the boutique’s closure, according to Eunice Ocampo, Timoteo’s director of sales and marketing.

“Our goal is to continue to focus on wholesaling the line to specialty stores in the United States and Canada,” Timoteo Ocampo said. The label’s premium denim, T-shirts and swimwear have sold to boutiques such as Los Angeles–based Pupeacute; Men on Melrose Avenue. The label’s wholesale price points range from $20 to $40 for swimwear, $25 to $50 for T-shirts, $60 to $80 for denim and $30 to $50 for woven shirts.

The Timoteo label’s 1,800-square-foot showroom and design studio has been located at the Toy Company Lofts in downtown Los Angeles since 2004. Fashion labels Tuff Gong and Adriano Goldschmied are also located there.

Timoteo Ocampo started his career in the fashion industry by designing womenswear for labels such as XOXO and BabyPhat, according to Eunice Ocampo. But he changed directions after male friends consistently asked for his advice on menswear fashions. —Andrew Asch
