L.A. Factory Opens
Los Angeles–based manufacturer Sugar Moods Ltd. has opened up about 14,000 square feet of incubator space to start-up and small apparel companies at rates as low as $1.50 per square foot.
The factory, at Jefferson and San Pedro streets, is located in a city Empowerment Zone, which allows qualified companies to obtain free consultation services from the nonprofit trade organization Fashion Business Inc.
In addition, the company is also offering use of certain equipment and services to outside companies that already have their own office space.
The facility has studios from 300 to 500 square feet as well as shared cutting, marking and grading equipment; shipping and receiving space; bookkeeping and accounting services; and sample-making services.
