Tianello's Holiday Spirit

On Dec. 22, Tianello Inc., a Los Angeles–based women’s apparel manufacturer, and its 200 employees donated 200 gift bags to homeless women at the New Image Emergency Center on Broadway in Los Angeles. Employees filled each bag with toiletries, towels and blankets. “Everyone made their own bag and filled it with whatever they could give,” said Steve Barraza, Tianello’s founder (pictured, second from right, with volunteers and staff of the center). Each employee personally handed his or her bag to a homeless woman at the shelter. “The experience of giving the bag and connecting with the recipient was so inspirational,” Barraza said.

On Dec. 19, the manufacturer donated 300 outfits to the New Orleans Dryades YMCA that were distributed to women’s groups and teachers affected by last year’s hurricanes. —Erin Barajas
