U.S. Trade Representative Susan C. Schwab appointed Claire E. Reade as chief counsel for the USTR’s China Trade Enforcement initiative. Reade will coordinate USTR efforts to ensure China’s compliance with international trade commitments, particularly its World Trade Organization obligations and the commitments that China has made within the U.S.-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade. Reade also will co-chair the USTR’s newly formed China Enforcement Task Force, which is aimed at helping U.S. companies gain full benefit of trade agreements with China.
