MAGIC Marketplace: Style for Fall '06

The MAGIC Marketplace showcased key trends for Fall ’06 in the Stylefile: Men’s and Women’s Collections fashion show during the Feb. 21–24 run of the trade show in Las Vegas. Stylefile was one of three shows that presented on the Fashion Show Stage in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Other shows included Vision: Men’s and Women’s Contemporary Collections and MAGICKids.

Luxurious fur coats and shawls in a soft tonal palette were the dramatic opening for the show. The furs in sable, mink and chinchilla were worn over turtleneck sweaters, knit dresses and pants in tweed and pinstripes. Tailored sportcoats, sweaters and trousers were key looks for men in fabrics such as houndstooth, glen plaid and corduroy. The palette in pine, olive, khaki and forest had an earthy sophistication. For women, crochet scarves and crafty details such as embroidered flowers and appliqueacute;s added a soft touch to sporty blazers worn with knit sweaters, knickers and shorts. Outerwear showed a sporty side for Fall with quilted parkas and utility coats paired with denim jeans and camouflage skirts. Coats were also showing in more sophisticated looks including long sweater coats and leather trench coats paired with skinny pants for women and long tweed coats and leather jackets paired with sportcoats and slacks for men. Glamorous eveningwear in nude champagne and taupe were paired with fur stoles and capes for the finale. Sequins, lace, rhinestones and plenty of flounces added a soft drama to the look. —N.
