Juicy Couture Plans Major Retail Expansion

Los Angeles–based Juicy Couture, a division of Liz Claiborne Inc., is planning a major retail rollout in California.

Juicy Couture stores are scheduled to open later this year in Fashion Island in Newport Beach, as well as in Santa Barbara and Malibu. A major flagship store is slated to debut in San Francisco.

Dates and locations are still tentative, but Jennifer Pinto, Juicy’s director of communications, estimated the bulk of the stores will open between July and October. The company debuted its first flagship in March in Tokyo. Its first store opened in Las Vegas in 2004.

Juicy also is growing its product offerings. The company will launch a new line of watches under the Juicy Couture and Couture Couture brand names in partnership with Movado Group, a Paramus, N.J.–based watchmaker. —Erin Barajas
