Mills Completes Del Amo Expansion

Chevy Chase, Md.–based Mills Corp. has completed an expansion of its Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, Calif., adding a two-story outdoor promenade, which features about 35 new stores as well as an 18-screen movie theater and a bowling alley.

The expanded section features a number of new retail concepts including Metropark, a fashion/music concept chain founded by Orv Madden of Hot Topic fame; XXI, Forever 21’s one-stop-shop format; and Free People, the first California store from the Trenton, S.C.–based contemporary resource.

Other tenants in the expanded area include Ann Taylor Loft, Anthropologie, Eddie Bauer, GAP/GAP, Guess, J. Jill, The Levi’s Store, Lucky Brand Jeans, Urban Outfitters and Wild Pair.

The new area will also feature Lucky Strike Lanes, a bowling alley and billiards center similar to the company’s Hollywood & Highland location.

The expansion puts Del Amo among the top 10 largest shopping centers in the country. —Robert McAllister
