Expansion at Doneger's L.A. Office

The Doneger Group, the New York–based retail buying office and trend forecasting service, has added two new market analysts to its West Coast office in Los Angeles, which opened last year.

Anita Tang is its new market analyst for junior sportswear and Karen Rosenberg has been named associate market analyst for young men’s, surf and skate. Tang’s background is in buying and merchandising for Saks Fifth Avenue and the swimwear division of Victoria’s Secret. Rosenberg’s background includes MAGIC International and Bloomingdale’s corporate buying offices.

Doneger also has hired new executives at its New York headquarters.

Abbey Samet was named market analyst of contemporary sportswear. She has a decade of experience in the contemporary market, most recently as merchandiser for Kenneth Cole. Cindy Skiba was named market analyst of women’s casual plus, maternity and petite sportswear. Her experience includes work with Popular Club, Macy’s East and Linens ’N Things. Skiba replaces Lori Savino, who has been named market analyst for Doneger’s intimate apparel division. Susanne Sawyer was named market analyst for moderate misses outerwear. Sawyer was previously with Charming Shoppes, where she was brand manager for the Lew Magram catalog and e-commerce. She replaces Rose Mary Rohr, who is retiring after 10 years with the company.

“We are enhancing our market analyst teams as part of our strategy to build the strongest network of fashion and merchandising authorities,” Abbey Doneger, company president, said in a statement. “Our new industry talent complements our existing expertise and will prove instrumental as we help clients identify the best opportunities for growth in a highly complex industry and competitive retail environment.” —Alison A.
