Fiber and Wash Techniques

The latest trends and developments in fabrics, fibers, washing and dyeing will be the focus of a symposium set for Dec. 12–13 at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach, Calif., and sponsored by the American Association of Textile, Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), a trade organization based in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

Industry leaders from California and beyond will sit on numerous sessions planned for the event. Designer Adriano Goldschmied will discuss trends in denim, and Fran Sude of Design Options will address West Coast fashion and color trends. Other participants include Eileen Abajian of Dow Chemical, Don Tull of Cone Mills, Jim Hind of Traptek, Brad Mowry and Andrew Olah of Olah Inc., Bill Tenenblatt of Antex Knitting Mills, Mark Harris of CellCorp., Luca Scapin of Modus, Andy Weitz of TyeDye Factory, Gap Inc., Rebecca Klein of the Organic Exchange, Brad McClanahan of the Clariant Corp., Chuck Stewart of Tumbling Colors Inc., Manfred Wentz of Oeko-Tex, Wayne Ashton of Gencor, Henry Boyter of the Institute of Textile Technology, and Tim Williams of DyStar.

Phillip L. Goodman of Boehme Filatex Inc./DyStar will chair the event.

The registration fee is $710 or $475 for corporate or individual AATCC members and $125 for students.
