Party at Howe's Hause

Menswear designer Jade Howe threw a party and virtual fashion show on Aug. 11 to kick off the Spring/Summer 2008 Hause of Howe collection and bow the company’s new runway space at its headquarters in Gardena, Calif.

The rock ’n’ roll crowd included retailers, musicians and other fans of the Howe line. A row of key pieces lined the catwalk in a virtual runway that gave guests a hint of the current look of Howe. The collection was inspired, in part, by the designer’s recent trip to Japan and features subtle details including printed linings on jackets and double cuffs on woven shirts. The full collection will be on view at the Project Global Trade Show in Las Vegas later this month.

Last year, Seattle Pacific Industries Inc., makers of the Union Bay label, purchased Hause of Howe for an undisclosed sum and announced plans to grow the contemporary menswear label. —Alison A. Nieder
