7 Takes One for Robertson

Popular Los Angeles denim brand 7 For All Mankind forecasts opening 10 boutiques across the United States before the end of 2008. But it will debut the first store on Los Angeles’ Robertson Boulevard by mid-November. It will be a place where the brand will try new styles, according to Aaron Battista, vice president of retail for the company.

The company will bow its line of cashmere sweaters for men and women at the boutique. It also will debut footwear and accessories at the store as well as a limited outerwear selection that will focus on non-denim fabrics.

The 3,100-square-foot boutique will be located on the corner of Robertson Boulevard and Alden Drive. The company focused on the street because of its unique ambience and its high profile, Battista said. “It’s not your traditional luxury street shopping, yet it still has premium brands on the street,” Battista said.

The store’s interiors will be designed in part by the Los Angeles offices of Studios Architecture. While the store’s look has not been finished, Battista said it would feature dramatic lighting and design elements composed of stone, wood and glass. The store’s accessories price points will range from $295 to $800 for handbags. Footwear price points will range from $150 to $500 for shoe styles such as sneakers, boots and pumps.

Other possible locations for 7 For All Mankind stores will be New York City, Miami, Hawaii and Las Vegas. —Andrew Asch
