L.A. Fashion Awards' Denim Nominees

Five Los Angeles denim brands will compete to be named “Supima Denim Designer of the Year” at the 2007 Los Angeles Fashion Awards presented by Saturn Oct.26 in downtown Los Angeles.

This is a new category for the awards program, now in its third year. The nominees include 7 For All Mankind Creative Director Tim Kaeding, Goldsign founder Adriano Goldschmied, J Brand co-founders Jeff Rudes and Susie Crippen, Oligo Tissewco-founders Kristopher and Amy Enuke, and Paige Premium Denim founder Paige Adams-Geller.

The winning designer or design team will be announced at the Oct. 26 event at the Orpheum Theatre.

Nominees for the other awards were announced last month. They include “Moss Adams Fashion Innovator Award” nominees Jasmin Shokrian, Juan Carlos Obando, Rami Kashou and Paula Thomas of Thomas Wylde; “Marketing Excellence Award” nominees BCBG Max Azria, Guess by Marciano, L.A. Eyeworks and Kitson; and “Fashion Retailer Award” nominees American Rag, Fred Segal, Lisa Klein and The Way We Wore.

At the event, BCBG Max Azria will receive the “Wells Fargo Century Fashion Achievement Award”; Bravo’s fashion reality show, “Project Runway,” will receive the “Inspiration Award”; and fashion Web site Daily Candy (www.dailycandy.com) will receive the “Fashion Communication Award.”
