San Francisco Fashion Week '07: Wee Scotty

As its name suggests, the fashions from Wee Scotty are for wee folks.

Wee Scotty is a childrenswear line created by Lynne Gallagher. She also runs the Wee Scotty Fashion School and Boutique, where youngsters learn the ins and outs of designing and sewing their own duds.

This year, Gallagher not only showed some of her own Spring 2008 designs but those too of her students, who used recycled materials for their fashions. Their colors were vivid and their imagination boundless.

Particularly clever was a two-tiered ice cream–tub skirt made with recycled Dreyer’s ice cream containers. An ice cream lid was used as a matching pillbox hat, and a Dreyer’s ice cream tub served as a purse. It was created by Gallagher’s daughter, Leah. —Deborah Belgum
