Leases Signed for New Bay Area Center

A slate of national retailers will take space at the new Streets of Brentwood lifestyle shopping center under construction in the Northern California town of Brentwood.

American Eagle, Banana Republic, REI, Hollister Co., Chico’s, J. Jill, Jos. A. Bank, Talbots, Coldwater Creek, Tilly’s, Delia’s, Limited Too, Victoria’s Secret, DSW, No Fear and White House/Black Market are among the apparel retailers taking space in the 400,000-square-foot project being development by San Francisco–based Retail West and Columbus, Ohio–based Continental Retail Development.

The center is situated on 60 acres at the northeast corner of State Highway 4 and Sandy Creek Road in Brentwood, which is in Contra Costa County in the East Bay area. It will include more than 60 specialty retailers, a 14-screen Rave Motion Pictures, a bookstore, and several casual and upscale restaurants.

The site is more than 40 minutes away from the nearest regional mall, and neighboring residents have an average annual income of $80,000, the developers said. The project is expected to be complete by fall 2008.—Robert McAllister
