Port Celebrates Centennial With L.A. by Design Event

A fashion show featuring Los Angeles designs modeled by city council members Eric Garcetti and Richard Alarcon will be the centerpiece of “L.A. by Design,” an event celebrating the Port of Los Angeles’ centennial anniversary and highlighting its role in international trade.

Among the California brands on the runway at the July 12 fashion show will be Trina Turk, Poleci, Single, Sue Wong, ABS by Allen Schwartz, Bebe Collection, Hot Kiss, Dina Bar-el, Tadashi, Karen Kane, Johnny Was Collection, Quiksilver, Roxy, Skechers, and swimwear by Asha Couture and Betsey Johnson.

Expected guests include apparel-industry leaders; city, county and state public officials; and members of the international consulate community.

The fashion show and reception will be hosted by the Port of Los Angeles and the California Fashion Association as part of the port’s centennial celebrations.
