More JCPenney All Around

Plano, Texas–based JCPenney opened 22 new stores—making good headway on its plans to open 50 new stores in 2007. So far this year, the department store has opened 44 new stores and had plans to open the remaining six in the coming weeks. The company announced plans to open 250 new and relocated stores by 2001. Twenty of the newly opened stores are in off-mall locations, and the store at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton in Denver incorporates sustainable and energy-saving features including LED lighting, recycled carpet, water-saving plumbing and recycling of construction waste.
