Kane, Blue Tattoo Deal Falls Through

Womenswear manufacturer Karen Kane has decided not to buy Los Angeles denim maker Blue Tattoo after a deal was announced one month ago.

Lonnie Kane, president of Karen Kane, said the principals decided the merger wasn’t in their best interests.

After the deal was announced in late June, Blue Tattoo employees moved into the Karen Kane headquarters in Commerce, Calif., and the operator was answering the phone, “Karen Kane, Blue Tattoo.”
