Spreegirl

Launched in 2006, Los Angeles–based lingerie brand Spreegirl is targeted to fashion-forward women ages 18 to 30 and is stocked in over 140 retailers, including Von Maur Department Stores, Urban Outfitters U.K., LF Stores and Delia’s. As the young contemporary division of Carrie Amber Intimates, Spreegirl is a family-run company that operates under the motto “It’s not just sleepwear, it’s fashion.” This conveys the brand’s trendy emphasis on fun prints and vibrant colorways. With plenty of frills, ribbons and lacy details, this feminine line has a playful, youthful appeal.

Spreegirl’s team of two designers creates loungewear, sleepwear and lingerie with a “retro-modern” vibe that is made for easy mixing and matching with prints and solids. The loungewear items, including camis, shorts and capris, are designed with the intention of being worn inside (while lounging) or outside to grab coffee or even to yoga class.

The label also recently introduced Spreegirl Curves, a young contemporary plus-size line, with two fashion and two basic groups consisting of camis, bras, chemises, boyshorts and panties. Made in stretch lace and microfiber, Spreegirl Curves echoes the comfortable, fun, flattering look of the original line. Thanks to strong interest in the new plus-size line, Spreegirl Curves will soon include the Spreegirl printed cotton hipsters, which have become a signature item in the main line.

Made in China, best-selling pieces from the Spreegirl Spring ’08 collection that will be carried over for Fall ’08 include the “Sweet Innocence” seersucker bra and boyshort, as well as the cotton-printed panties, which will be updated with new prints.

Spreegirl will be exhibiting during Intimate Apparel Week Feb. 4–8 at its New York showroom, as well as at Lingerie Americas in Las Vegas Feb. 12–15, Lingerie Americas in New York Feb. 24–26 and at the International Lingerie Show April 7–9 in Las Vegas. Wholesale prices for the main line are $3 to $18, with prices for Spreegirl Curves ranging from $4 to $15. For more information, visit www.spreegirl.com. —Dena Smolek
