New York outerwear and sportswear manufacturer G-III Apparel Group Ltd. has acquired Andrew Marc from Gordon Brothers Group for about $42 million. Andrew Marc makes high-end outerwear and handbags under the labels Andrew Marc and Marc New York and licenses the Dockers and Levi’s brands. In 2007, Andrew Marc had net sales of $80 million. “Strategically, we believe that Andrew Marc can be leveraged into a variety of new categories to become a meaningful contemporary lifestyle brand,” said Morris Goldfarb, chairman and chief executive of G-III Apparel, which makes goods under various licenses, including licenses with the National Football League, the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball.
