Cook in at Nike

Nike’s international general manager for its Jordan brand, Garry Cook, has been promoted to president of the brand, a division of Nike’s global basketball unit. Cook has been with the athleticfootwear and apparel giant for nearly 12 years, holding several executive positions in the United States and Europe. Nike launched the Air Jordan shoe, named for basketball player Michael Jordan, in 1985, Jordan’s first year in the NBA. The Jordan brand became a separate division in 1997. Jordan, commenting on Cook’s promotion, said: “Garry has demonstrated tremendous leadership in the global marketplace and is perfectly poised to continue the growth of the Jordan Brand worldwide.”
