Urban Fashion Awards Come to Los Angeles
The first Urban Fashion Week Awards, honoring the best urban and streetwear designers, takes place June 22 at The Republic, a club in Hollywood, in conjunction with L.A. Urban Fashion Week.
Awards will be doled out in several categories, including sportswear, suits, couture, contemporary, hip-hop, premium and denim. In addition, awards will be presented to the best regional designers as well as top stylists and companies. A humanitarian award will round out the presentations.
According to show producer Billy Foster, the awards will be taped and shownon VH1.
A fashion show takes place June 19 at The Cabana Club to kick off the week’s events. Several celebrities are expected to appear.
