Kevan Hall at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

A standing-room only crowd packed the main tent at Smashbox Studios to see the opening fashion show, headlined by Los Angeles designer Kevan Hall. In the audience, sitting in the front row was Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, attending his first show at the studios. Also in attendance were actresses Dana Delaney and Rachel Griffiths. Hall received a standing ovation for his elegant dresses that looked to Hollywood costume designer Adrian for styles from 1940s Hollywood. “Kevan Hall is great. I loved his color selection,” said the mayor.

Kevan had an array of colors, starting at the show with a collection of suits and dresses done in back and white. His array of fashion—in azure, sage and taupe—came from the pre-Technicolor days of cinema. Outfits in pink, black and white had sort of a Doris Day feel. Altogether, there were 54 looks on the catwalk.
