West Coast Companies at N.Y. Tech Conference

Emerging technologies such as product lifecycle management, radio frequency identification and 3-D design applications will be among the subjects discussed at the Apparel Technology Conference, set for Nov. 5 –6 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Representatives of several West Coast companies will lead the sessions.

In separate sessions, Tukatech Chief Executive Officer Ram Sareen and company Director Raj Sareen will talk about the latest advancements in virtual prototyping and 3-D tools and how companies can speed up their lead times.

On a similar tack, Roxy Starr of Malibu, Calif.–based Shapely Shadow will present a demo of the company’s new FastFit 360 system, which enhances collaboration between designers and factories on product development using digital photography. Jill M. Simmons of Lectra’s Cypress, Calif., office will present a demo of Lectra’s Kaledo design software, which helps companies manage graphics and visual materials.

Other key speakers include Fred Isenberg of Miami Lakes, Fla.–based New Generation Computing. He will discuss the advantages of using integrated PLM and sourcing applications. Bill Brewster of Gerber Technology will discuss PLM implementations. Kathleen Mitford of PTC will present a session on how to enhance the gap between sourcing and product development. Thomas Racette of Motorola will discuss “real world” applications for RFID, and in separate sessions Bob McKee of Lawson Software and Paul Magel of CGS will talk about how to overcome the challenges in the current economic climate.

Rounding out the schedule will be presentations by OptiTex, Enovia, AMR Research, Visual 2000 International, TXT e-Solutions, Global Hunter Securities LLC of Alvanon Inc., Centric Software, Simparel Inc., SKY IT Group, Datacolor, Trade Stone Software, E-Spec Inc. and Teeger Schiller. —Robert McAllister
