Guild Highlights Upscale Menswear

Guild, a new menswear show, made its debut at Palms Place Aug. 25–27 with 20 brands and a more laid-back vibe than the larger, flashier trade shows. The brainchild of upscale shoe designer George Esquivel, Jason Fischer and Dana Robinson, the off-the-Strip show attracted 65 stores to its suites, which featured sweeping views of Las Vegas and Spring offerings from brands such as Odyn Vovk, Rogues Gallery, Lova, K.Z.O., Esquivel and Barton Perreira.

“We’re trying to do something different that would appeal not only to the domestic market but to the international market as well. We’re very happy with the quality of the buyers we attracted, and we think that is a product of the strength of the brands that participated,” Esquivel said. Representatives from Barneys Japan, Lane Crawford, American Rag, Blackbird, Belmont Army, De La Barracuda and Revolve Clothing walked the halls of the suite show.

Guild will return in February and again run concurrently with the MAGIC Marketplace. Fischer and Esquivel said they expect the show to grow without sacrificing the intimacy and off-the-grid quality that appealed to its inaugural brands and buyers. —Erin Barajas
