Lucero Moves Atelier to Concentrate on Wholesale

The shuttered windows and “for lease” sign fronting Eduardo Lucero’s Beverly Boulevard retail store and studio had locals wondering what was going on with the Los Angeles–based designer.

Lucero recently halted his retail operation to concentrate on his custom and wholesale businesses.

“We closed [the retail store] to be able to grow [the business],” he said.

The designer moved his custom-apparel business a few doors down to 7356 Beverly Blvd., where he has already been meeting with clients. The private studio is only open by appointment.

The move will ensure more privacy for Lucero’s custom clientele.

“We were always having walk-ins coming in when we were doing fittings,” he said.

The designer also plans to devote more time to the wholesale side of his business, particularly to his recently launched menswear collection.

“We didn’t have enough time for our wholesale business,” he said. “We’re looking for another space for wholesale only, and we’re working on menswear.”

The company’s contact number for wholesale and custom inquires remains the same: (323) 933-2778. —Alison A. Nieder
