Lunching With Rachel Pally and Dita Von Teese

A chic group of editors, stylists and fashion insiders turned out for a private luncheon in honor of designer Rachel Pally.

Hosting the soiree for the “Jersey Girl” was Dita Von Teese, who was dressed in a glamorous green Pally dress for the occasion. The event was held at the Chateau Marmont’s uber-chic Penthouse 64 in West Hollywood, Calif. Guests enjoyed mimosas and a luncheon on the patio with views that overlooked Los Angeles.

Pally, who just returned from vacationing with her family in Guatemala, said Von Teese is an unusual and alluring client. Certainly, the iconic glamour girl can help elevate any brand’s profile into a different realm. The appeal of Pally’s designs could be seen in the variety of dresses worn by guests at the event.

The look ranged from ethnic chic to St. Tropez glitz and Von Teese’s own 1940s-inspired style. The international burlesque star said that she first discovered her love for Pally’s jersey frocks while traveling. “It’s a great way to be glamorous and comfortable,” Von Teese said. And her loyalty extends beyond the clothes. “I’m a big fan of her personally and professionally,” she added.

But as any fashion diva must do, Von Teese added a dose of “coutorture” to the mix. “I like to offset my comfort in extremely high heels,” she said.

Take note: For “Dita” status, the requisite accessories include 5-inch leopard-print Dior heels, a Dolce Gabbana clutch and custom Francis Klein shades.
