Loomstate for Target Launches

Amy Smart, Dita Von Teese, Amber Valletta and Anna Paquin were just some of the environmentally conscious celebs who turned out to help celebrate the launch of the Loomstate for Target collection.

Designers Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay Hahn hosted a private shopping event and cocktail party on April 14 at Big Red Sun, located in Los Angeles’ Venice neighborhood, for the debut. Guests shopped for items from the collection, which was inspired by the beachy lifestyle of California. This is the second collection Gregory has designed in collaboration with the mass retailer's GO! International designer series. He said he had such a good experience while collaborating on the Rogan for Target collection last year that he was happy to participate again.

Having just won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award, Rogan’s line was wildly successful at retail. They are hoping for the same response for Loomstate, which launches in stores on April 19—just in time for Earth Day. Available are relaxed easy-to-wear organic cotton tops, breezy seagull-print shorts and plaid dresses. For men, styles include woven shirts, boardshorts and plenty of graphic-print T-shirts. The collection will retail from $14.99 to $44.99, which is great for customers but could be troubling to retailers who already carry the line at a higher price point. However, because Hahn and Gregory are committed to eco-conscious design, distributing with a mass retailer gives them a much larger platform to spread the message. All cotton used in the Loomstate for Target collection is 100 percent certified organic. “This is the way forward,” Gregory said. “We’re pushing organic. It’s really important… And the real beauty is we are reaching a lot more people.”
