Maxfield in Malibu Scheduled To Open June 1

Gala debut party at Malibu Lumber Yard on April 21

Luxury retail center Malibu Lumber Yard debuted April 17 with an array of boutiques that lived up to the word “luxury.” Its beautiful James Perse store offers men’s bathrobes with a price tag of $350. However, one Lumber Yard store missing from the debut was the long-anticipated opening of Maxfield, a favorite of Los Angeles’ fashion-luxe set.

The original Maxfield is one of Los Angeles’ pioneering boutiques. It is based in West Hollywood, and owner Tommy Perse has reportedly long resisted opening other locations. The 2,000-square-foot Maxfield will open on June 1, according to Malibu Lumber Yard representatives.

A Kitson Men store also is scheduled to open at the Malibu Lumber Yard in June. Other Malibu Lumber Yard stores already open include Tory Burch, James Perse, Alice+Olivia and Planet Blue Kids. A J.Crew at-the-Beach is scheduled to debut at the center later this year.

On April 21, the Malibu Lumber Yard held a gala debut party. Guests included Malibu residents such as actors Matthew McConaughey and Jeremy Piven. Also partying were singer Jewel, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, actress and boutique owner Lauralee Bell, and Steve Tisch, owner of the New York Giants football team.
