Commando Launches Cotton Collection

Commando’s new range of cotton panties, tops and leggings joins seamless technology with natural fibers. The Vermont-based company is known for its cleverly packaged accessories, such as nipple covers, fashion tape, breast inserts and a line of raw-cut seamless panties, tops and slips that lay flat against the skin.

Commando founder Kerry O’Brien developed the brand’s nylon/Lycra seamless underwear four years ago. “My underwear always dug into me. Elastic was my mortal enemy,” O’Brien said. She added that seamless cotton underwear was “something we’ve been looking to do for years, but to clean-cut a natural fiber can be difficult to do without fraying or rolling.” The technology has finally caught up to O’Brien’s ambition. Commando’s patent-pending cotton/spandex-blend panties and tanks feature the same raw-edge and seamless look as the nylon/Lycra line. It started shipping to stores such as Footsie in Santa Monica, Calif., and Lulu’s in Manhattan Beach, Calif., in June. —Rhea CortadoKEY LOOKS: Commando’s cotton line is available in tank, cami, thong, girl-short and bikini styles and in six different colors.
