Board sports, music and fashion will meet in Huntington Beach when U.S. Boardfest kicks off its Oct. 17–18 run at the Huntington Beach Pier. Billed as a “major salute to girl power,” the event will include the Girls Junior Pro-Am Surfing Competition and the Blizzard at the Beach Snowboard Rail Jam, a snowboard competition on a two-story platform covered in 40 tons of snow. The Boardfest Music, Entertainment & Fashion Stage will feature performances by bands including Paramore and Cute Is What We Aim For, as well as fashion shows featuring Roxy, O’Neill, Hurley and others. And Boardfest’s Ocean-Front, Interactive Exposition will feature four acres of free exhibits, activities, attractions, sampling and an arcade. More information is available at www.boardfest.com.
