CFA's Metchek, SIMA's Baker at Irvine Tech Conference
Mike Fralix of [TC]2, Ilse Metchek of the California Fashion Association and surf-industry pioneer Dick Baker will lead the keynote presentations during the second Tech Conference West, set for March 24 at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising’s Orange County campus in Irvine, Calif.
Fralix, president of industry consultancy [TC]2, will give a presentation on technologies that support a sustainable supply chain. Metchek will discuss “hot button” issues for 2009 while Baker, chairman of the Surfwear Industry Manufacturers’ Association (SIMA) and former chief executive officer of Ocean Pacific, will speak on a yet-to-be named subject.
Event producer Apparel Magazine will present the first Apparel All-Star Sustanability Awards to several companies. A mini trade show featuring the latest technologies from industry leaders will also be part of the day’s events.
